A cleaner,
healthier smile.
A teeth cleaning — a dental prophylaxis — removes the plaque, tartar, and surface stains that build up at your teeth and gumline. It is the simplest way to prevent cavities and gum disease, done gently by our hygienists under the care of Dr. Bradley, a UCLA-trained dentist.

Preventive care that stops problems early.
Even with careful brushing and flossing, plaque hardens into tartar that a toothbrush can’t reach. A professional cleaning removes that buildup from your teeth and gumline, helps prevent cavities and gum disease, and gives us a chance to catch small issues before they grow.
What a cleaning does for you.
Prevents cavities
Removes the plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing miss, lowering your risk of tooth decay.
Protects your gums
Clears the bacteria along the gumline that lead to gingivitis and gum disease, keeping your gums healthy.
Freshens and brightens
Removes odor-causing bacteria and polishes away stains from coffee, tea, and food — for fresher breath and a brighter smile.

Teeth cleaning questions, answered.
How often should I get a cleaning?
The American Dental Association recommends a professional cleaning at least twice a year. Some patients with gum concerns benefit from coming in more often — we’ll suggest the right schedule for you.
Is a dental cleaning safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Cleanings are safe and important during pregnancy — hormonal changes raise the risk of gum disease, so regular care matters even more. Just let us know you’re expecting so we can adjust your visit.
What happens if I skip cleanings?
When cleanings are skipped, plaque hardens into tartar that leads to gum inflammation, bone loss, and decay. Routine cleanings keep small problems from turning into bigger treatment later on.
Is teeth cleaning covered by insurance?
Most major dental plans cover preventive cleanings, and we offer monthly payment plans. We’ll review your options at your visit — no surprises.

Exams & X-Rays
A dental exam and X-rays are the diagnostic tools we use to evaluate your oral health. Alongside a hands-on look at your teeth and gums, we use digital X-rays — including panoramic and 3D cone-beam (CBCT) scans when needed — to see what the eye can’t: a clear view of your teeth, gums, and jaw for early detection and careful planning.
Explore →Fluoride & Sealants
Fluoride is a natural mineral that strengthens teeth much like calcium — it helps reverse the earliest signs of enamel wear, eases sensitivity, and lowers the risk of cavities. Sealants are thin, protective coatings painted onto the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, filling the deep grooves so plaque and food can’t settle in and cause decay. Together they give your smile a head start against cavities.
Explore →Oral Cancer Screening
An oral cancer screening is a quick, non-invasive exam to detect the early signs of cancerous or precancerous conditions in the mouth. We look closely at the soft tissues for red or white patches, lumps, or sores that haven’t healed — the kind of changes that are easy to treat when found early.
